Pakistan or officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Location
Located in South Asia. It is bordered by India to the east, Afghanistan to the west, Iran to the southwest, and China to the northeast.
It is separated narrowly from Tajikistan by Afghanistan's Wakhan Corridor in the northwest and also shares a maritime border with Oman.

Islamabad.
Reason for Naming
The name Pakistan literally means "land of the pure" in Urdu and Persian. It refers to the word pāk which means "pure" in Persian and Pashto. The suffix "-stān" is a Persian suffix meaning "the place of".
Flag
It was adopted on August 11, 1947, just three days before the country's independence. The flag is a green field with a white crescent moon and five-rayed star at its center, and a vertical white stripe at the hoist side. The green color represents the Muslim majority in Pakistan and the white stripe represents religious minorities. The crescent represents progress, and the five-pointed star represents the Five Pillars of Islam. The flag symbolizes Pakistan's commitment to Islam and the rights of religious minorities.
Language
There are more than 60 languages spoken in Pakistan. Urdu and English are the official languages of Pakistan, Urdu considered being the national language in Pakistan after the Punjabi Language came. The country also has several regional languages, including Punjabi, Saraiki, Pashto, Sindhi, Balochi, Gujari, Kashmiri, Hindko, Brahui, Shina, Balti, Khowar, Dhatki, Haryanvi, Marwari, Wakhi, and Burushaski. The Arabic language is officially recognized by the constitution of Pakistan. Four of these are provincial languages – Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi, and Balochi.
Religion
The main religion in Pakistan is "Islam". Most Pakistanis are Muslims, followed by Hindus and Christians. There are also people in Pakistan who follow other religions, such as Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, and the minority of Parsi (who follow Zoroastrianism) Freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Constitution of Pakistan.

Climate
Pakistan’s continental type of climate is characterized by extreme variations of temperature, both seasonally and daily. High elevations modify the climate in the cold, snow-covered northern mountains; temperatures on the Balochistan Plateau are somewhat higher. Along the coastal strip, the climate is modified by sea breezes. In the rest of the country, temperatures reach great extremes in the summer; the mean temperature during June is 100 °F (38 °C). In the summer, hot winds called loos blow across the plains during the day. Winters are cold, with minimum mean temperatures of about 40 °F (4 °C) in January.
