Reason for Naming the country
There are different hypotheses as to the etymology of the name Ukraine. According to the older widespread hypothesis, it means "borderland", while some more recent linguistic studies claim a different meaning: "homeland" or "region, country".
Flag
The first use of the current flag design was in 1848. The Flag of Ukraine was adopted on 28 January 1992. The flag of Ukraine is one of the most simplistic national flags in the world.
It consists of two equal horizontal stripes, a blue stripe at the top and
a yellow stripe at the bottom, the blue color represents peace, as well as the sky above the nation and the streams found throughout the country.
The yellow color represents prosperity and also wheat fields found throughout the country.
The colors blue and yellow have both held significant roles in the history of this nation. These colors were used prominently during the country’s fight for independence.
Language
The Ukrainian language is the official state language of Ukraine. and spoken by the majority of the population.
Most native Ukrainian speakers know Russian as a second language. Russian was the de facto dominant language of the Soviet Union but Ukrainian also held official status and in the schools of the Ukrainian SSR learning Ukrainian was mandatory.
Russian, the second most widely spoken language in the country, became the official language in a number of cities and oblasts in the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine.
The language was now used in the administrative office work of these places.
There are 40 minority languages and dialects spoken in Ukraine. Most of these languages are native languages of the former Soviet Union.
The Constitution of the country guarantees the use, protection, and free development of these languages in the country. These languages include Eastern Yiddish, Rusyn, Romanian, Belarusian, Crimean Tatar, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Polish, Armenian, and several others.
Religion
The majority of the population of Ukraine are Christians, comprising 65.4% who declared to be Orthodox, 7.1% simply Christians, 6.5% Greek Rite Catholics, and 1.9% Protestants. The second-largest Christian is Catholicism, which is predominantly represented by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, an Eastern Catholic Church in union with the Holy See of the Roman Catholic Church, additionally, there are a small number of Latin Rite Catholic communities in the country.
Islam and Judaism have a long history in Ukraine as it was found before Eastern Orthodoxy was introduced to Ukraine or even before the Kievan Rus' existed.
So the minority religions in Ukrain are Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and Latin Rite Catholics.

Climate
Ukraine has a mostly temperate climate, with the exception of the southern coast of Crimea which has a subtropical climate.
The climate is influenced by moderately warm, humid air coming from the Atlantic Ocean.
Average annual temperatures range from 5.5 to 7 °C (41.9–44.6 °F) in the north, to 11–13 °C (51.8–55.4 °F) in the south.
Precipitation is disproportionately distributed; it is highest in the west and north and lowest in the east and southeast.
The best time to visit Ukraine as a whole runs from mid-May to mid-September.
Since hot days can occur in July and August, you can choose for the two periods, mid-May to late June and the first half of September, in order to avoid heat waves, which may occur in midsummer especially in the south-central and in the east of the country; however, those who can stand the heat can go in July and August as well.
