Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia. It is surrounded by five landlocked countries: Kazakhstan to the north; Kyrgyzstan to the northeast; Tajikistan to the southeast; Afghanistan to the south and Turkmenistan to the southwest.

Reason for Naming the country
The name “Uzbekistan” means "Home of the Free".
It is taken from a combination of uz which means in Turkic "self", bek "master"("bey in modern Turkish"), and -stan (in Persian means "land of").
The word Uzbek itself remains disputed. One view holds that it is named after Oghuz Khagan, also known as Oghuz Beg, which became the word Uzbek.
Another theory states that the name means independent or the lord himself, from Öz (self) and the Turkic title Bek/Bey/Beg.
A third theory holds that the variant Uz, of the word Uğuz, earlier Oğuz, united with the word Bek to form Uğuz-bek > Uz-bek, meaning "leader of an Oguz".
Flag
The Flag of Uzbekistan was adopted on 18 November 1991.
The flag consists of three horizontal blue, white, and green stripes separated by two thin red fimbriations, with a white crescent moon and twelve stars at the canton.
The blue color represents the blue sky and clear water, it also represents the East. and the Turkic people (Most of the population of Uzbekistan are Turkic peoples who speak Turkic languages).
The White color represents peace, purity, and kindness. White also means the ancient religion of Zoroastrianism, The Green color represents the diverse and rich nature of the country it also represents the Holy religion of Islam, The red color represents life, and courage, as well as a symbol of the national and religious minorities of Uzbekistan.
The Crescent represents Islam, and the Crescent moon and stars also represent a symbol of a cloudless calm sky and peace.
The flag of Uzbekistan has 12 stars. The number 12 means 12 zodiac signs,
12 months of the year, and is also considered a symbol of perfection.
The 12 stars on the flag are arranged in such a way that visually they form the inscription Allah in Arabic script.
Language
The Uzbek language is the official state language of Uzbekistan spoken by most people.
The Uzbek language is a branch of the Turkic language. Since 1992, the Uzbek language has been written in the Latin alphabet. The language is externally influenced by Russian, Arabic, and Persian.
Although the Russian language is not an official language in the country, it is widely used in many fields. Digital information from the government is bilingual. Russian is an important language for interethnic communication, especially in the cities, including day-to-day social, technical, scientific, governmental, and business use.
The Tajik language is the third most spoken language in Uzbekistan spoken in many cities.
There are 11 languages actively spoken in the country.
The other languages are Bukhari, Crimean Tatar, Karakalpak, Kazakh, Korean Turkish, and Arabic.
Unfortunately English is not nearly as widely spoken in Uzbekistan as in other regions.
Religion
Islam is the most widely practiced religion in Uzbekistan, many of them adhere to Sunni followed by Shia.
The second most widespread religion is Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
Other minority beliefs include Roman Catholicism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, and others.

Climate
In Uzbekistan, the climate is arid continental in the vast steppe plains of the central-western part, while it's still continental but moderately rainy and snowy in winter in the east, where hills and mountains are found. Winter is cold, especially in the north: the average temperature in January is around -5 °C in the northernmost areas (the Aral Sea and the northern part of the Kyzyl Kum Desert), while it's slightly above freezing (0 °C or 32 °F) in the central cities of the ancient Silk Road (Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara), and it goes up to 5 °C (41 °F) in the extreme south.
Summer is hot: the average temperature in July ranges from 26/27 °C (79/81 °F) in the north to 30 °C (86 °F) in the south.
The best times to visit Uzbekistan are spring and autumn in order to avoid the climate extremes to which the country is subject.
In most of the country, choose April and October, while in the northwest, you can choose the periods from mid-April to mid-May and from mid-September to mid-October.
